The cartoon "Fred and Bob The Fish" was created and ran in the college newspaper at University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth (formerly Southeastern Massachusetts University). Shown in the cartoons to the right from 1985, Fred is a mild - mannered guy just cruising through life. No worries, no future, no cares. The cartoons dealt with college life. Who is Bob The Fish®Bob used to be like all the other fish. All in all pretty normal. Life was easy. Swimming along one way then another. Every day the same, day in and day out. Maybe an occasional rush to avoid the big guys. But Bob was bored. Bob knew there must be more to life. Then it hit him! Bob realized he was NOT like other fish. He had to be a LEADER not a Follower. He was on his own. Cool! Life on the edge. No longer going with the flow. No more holding back. Bob realized his true destiny.
